At the Western International School of Shanghai (WISS), we believe that providing a world-class learning experience begins by ensuring the needs of our students are covered. We, therefore, offer a range of services to support students, parents, and staff during school days so they can focus on education and learning. Our services include 24-hour security, healthy meals and snacks, professional school bus transportation, student support services, and student uniforms.

WISS School Bus Transportation

Getting to and from school can be challenging and time-consuming for many families. As an added service WISS offers students the convenience of traveling by school bus to and from school each day. Our bus transportation is a door-to-door service for students from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12.

Our fleet of over 30 WISS branded busses makes them easily recognizable and safely transport students to and from school promptly and courteously. Our fleet operates an extensive bus service network that covers all major residential areas where students and parents within our community reside.

The WISS fleet is regularly checked for safety, and all buses are equipped with an array of features to ensure safety while in transit:

    •    Onboard Air-Quality Monitoring Systems

    •    Air-Conditioning

    •    Security Cameras

    •    Three-point seatbelts to enhance the safety of our students at all times

    •    Emergency Exits and Access Points

    •    Fire Extinguishers

    •    First Aid Kits

    •    Communication System

School Meals & Cafeteria

As part of our service offering to students and staff, all meals are provided and prepared on campus. Menus are designed to promote healthy eating habits by encouraging a balanced diet. Our Food and Beverage team strives to offer a variety of healthy and nutritional snack and meal options throughout the school day. All meals are freshly prepared by a qualified and experienced team of chefs. Led by our Head Chef, Jacky Jiang, the team ensures a balanced menu with the appropriate intake of carbohydrates, proteins, fiber, and vitamins consistent with a healthy diet. The team also endeavors to cater to students with special dietary requirements.

In addition, the cafeteria offers Asian, Western Style, and vegetarian meal options to cater to the varied tastes and needs of our student and staff community. Our commitment to food health and hygiene ensures clean, well-equipped meal facilities. To ensure student safety and meal quality, our ingredients never include nuts, nut oils, MSG, artificial flavorings, or colorings. School Uniform Store

Our school uniform is the fabric of the culture of the Western International School of Shanghai. The WISS uniform gives a sense of belonging and pride. Our uniforms are designed for comfort and offer a casual style made from high-quality material. The Uniform Store also carries exclusive WISS branded merchandise and items from the various charity projects that WISS supports within the community.

Health and Safety Services

The health and well-being of our students are a top priority for the school. While students are on campus, a team of experienced nurses provides qualified on-site health care. WISS families can rest assured that their children are in safe hands and that parents will be contacted immediately in the event of emergencies.

WISS operates three nurse stations across campus providing health services, first aid care, and emergency services for students and staff members. Furthermore, WISS fully recognizes its moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

Student Support Services

We acknowledge student diversity and understand that students have different academic, emotional, and social needs. Our highly qualified Student Support Services Team advocates for students and is there to assist and guide them during their education journey as WISS.

The Student Support Services Team at Western International School of Shanghai collaborates with community members to help empower students to develop self-efficacy and independence and reach their full potential while discovering and nurturing their strengths.
